Ode to a Spider

Hiding in the corner of my room
I see you and watch you design
Your home, which I could doom
To destruction with a wave of my broom
Should I be so inclined

Your weaving is increasingly delicate
I watch, fascinated by your skill
To create something so intricate
A pattern that could be made desolate
By rain, by wind or my will

My friends would probably send you away
With the help of someone braver
Than themselves; but in my house, please stay
Keep any flies that enter at bay:
Spider, give favour for favour

  1. If that spider could read, he would be one happy camper. I like the humorous where you spoke about your friends urge you to do away with the spider but they too scared to do it, haha.
