Jealous

A lovely poem with a nice, simple meaning. The flaws you see in yourself are the reason why other people love you.

Eyes + Words

Written by Jacob Ibrag

She depended on him to fill the craters

in her heart. Loved him more than she’d ever

love herself. While studying the imperfections

of her skin, he walks over and asks her what she

see’s, ‘a complete mess. You make my existence

make sense.’ Frustrated at her response, he

whispers in her ear, ‘you’re exactly who you

were meant to be.Without your flaws and

embellishments, you’re just like everyone

 else. Perfection would be jealous.’

  1. It’s a beautiful poem. Personally I think that jealousy is a form of insecurity. It can exist in a friendship as well as in a relationship. In small doses it can help, otherwise it completely destroys what has been built. Love, W.
